TANCET is a state level government exam which is conducted in 15 exam cities by Anna University, Chennai. All the candidates who want to pursue post-graduation degree i.e. MBA, MCA, ME, MTech, MPlan and MArch in the colleges of Tamil Nadu can take this exam. Tamil Nadu Common Entrance exam (TANCET) 2017 admit cards have been issued and candidates will take this exam on March 25 and 26 2017. Candidates can download their hall tickets from the TANCET official website i.e www.annauniv.edu
As per the latest schedule from the government of Tamil Nadu the MCA exam will be conducted on 25 March, 2017 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and MBA exam will be on the same day from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm. All other TANCET exams which are: ME, MTech, MArch and MPlan will be conducted on 26 March, 2017 between 10:00 am and 12:00 pm and the declaration of result will be in April, 2017. After this qualified candidates in May, 2017 will participate in common counseling which will be held by TANCA, 2017.
Eligibility for the exams: For the unreserved category it is compulsory to score 50% whereas for the reserved candidates it is 45% in the previous taken degree.
Who all are exempted from this exam?
Candidates with valid i.e. scores above cut off in GATE are exempted i.e. they do not have to take this exam as they are automatically qualified for the common counseling. But, GATE XE/XL candidates will have to appear for the TANCET exam irrespective of their scores to book seats for themselves in Tamil Nadu colleges.
Paper Type: It will be an offline objective type paper i.e. pen and paper based; No online.

Exam pattern is different for different courses:
For MBA and MCA, there will be one exam containing 100 questions of 100 marks.
For ME, MTech, MArch and MPlan, there will be 3 sections in which Part 1 and 2 will be compulsory and Part 3 will depend upon the discipline chosen. In all, there will be 100 questions of 100 marks.
As it will be an objective type exam so the candidates will be given four alternate answers and they have to darken the right circle.
Correct attempt will award 1 mark each and wrong attempt will lead to -1/4 or -1/5 mark each.
Unattended questions will neither lead to gain nor loss.
In case any candidate miss his/her hall ticket after the entrance test, he/she can obtain the duplicate hall ticket after making a payment of Rs 100 in the form of DD with the written request to:
